How to Make Gulab Jamun at Home: Easy Recipe
Ingredients

Milk Powder- 1 cup (100ml)

All-purpose flour- 3 tbsp (30gms)

Baking powder- 1 ½ tsp

Egg- 1 (or 3-4 tbsp milk)

Heavy cream- 3 tbsp (40gms)

Melted ghee- 2 tbsp (30gms)

Water- 1 ¼ cups

Sugar- 1 cup

Cardamom- 1-2 pods

Saffron and rose water (optional)
Method

Start by mixing milk powder, baking powder and flour in a bowl.

Whisk melted ghee, egg, and cream in a separate bowl.

Pour the mixture into the dry ingredients using a spoon and make a dough.

Knead the dough for a couple of minutes to avoid lumps and refrigerate the dough for about 20 minutes.

Once cool, knead the dough again to ensure it is smooth. In case the dough feels too dry, add a tablespoon of milk and knead once again.

Now, make small balls out of the dough (20gms each approx.). While making the jamuns, apply light pressure between your palms and roll lightly to form the perfect balls. Refrigerate the jamuns.

Next, take a kadai and heat 2 inches of oil on medium heat.

In a saucepan, mix sugar, water, and cardamom and boil it. Keep it to simmer till the sugar dissolves. Turn off the heat and cover the saucepan.

Once the oil is warm, transfer half of the balls into the kadai gently.

Fry the jamuns till they turn brown and use a strainer to swirl them.

Transfer the gulab jamun into the saucepan of hot syrup and swirl till the balls are coated properly. Cover the saucepan and leave the gulab jamun to soak the syrup for about 30 minutes.
